after an extended career in crafts,
teaching and doing commission work, i became a designer of lighting and
furniture. much of my design work, particularly when working on decoupage
furniture commissions, features photography and printmaking techniques.
since 2007 i have branched out into fine
art, learning photopolymer intaglio and collagraph techniques through workshops
and open studio in the us. although i began with craft and art, writing has
always been my first love. i write poetry, although i have trained myself to
write prose and would like to focus on essay writing in the future. i have been
published once in book form, thereafter in literary journals. my long term goal
is to combine my writing and printmaking skills to create hand made books, as well
as working on collaborations: illustrating somebody else's writing, or having
another artist illustrate my writing.
